Feather

Feather-heads (Ptilotus macrocephalus) are one of Australia's very pretty native perennial herbs, growing up to 50 centimetres high. I first saw these growing in a Central Australian desert, covering whole hillsides after rainfall and was thrilled to find them in a Victorian garden by Phillip Johnson.
