Tranquility

Without the presence of mountains and water in the landscape I can feel a sense of loss or missing because of how moved they make me feel.  This winter sunset at the Lake District in England's north, was almost dreamlike. I love the beauty found in simplicity, with soft light reducing everything to only the essential outlines of the scene. I took many frames, choosing this one for the placement of ducks and it reminds me of a Zen Buddhist monk, who recently talked about appreciating simplicity in life's daily pleasures, in acts such as feeding, or in my case, watching ducks.
