I frequently return to gardens in an attempt to capture better light, as weather rarely cooperates - even with careful planning. Here, at Zen Associates' Malt garden in New Hampshire, I returned a few days after my first overcast attempt.  After lying awake listening to coyotes calling out at night, I finally woke, excited to see this stunning mist. I love how soft light reduces a scene to only the essentials, giving space for breath and thought. This is one of my favourite garden images, for its subtle layers and connection to landscape.
