SNOW

I love snow and landscape!  In my school years, I often painted idyllic English landscapes, mostly from photographs. The Lake District is one of the best examples of this, with dramatic mountains, forests, lakes, and rivers, linked with tiny lanes and a scattering of stone houses, making for wonderful points of interest when composing images. This was taken during my second morning hiking up the Cat Bells, just outside of Keswick. This time I travelled with snow grips on my shoes and poles, and went earlier so that I could be there in time for the soft light as it moved across, spotlighting the valley through breaks in passing clouds.
