Highfields is the garden of David Kennedy and Andrew Dunshea, two passionate plantsmen who courageously took on a whole hillside in Little Hartley, New South Wales, Australia. From former pastureland, they carved out a magnificent garden which is now open to the public. According to the rules of photography, I wouldn’t normally place a horizon in the middle, but I feel it works here, and I am not one for rules anyway. The details and layers of planting catch the first rays of light; together with the briefest of cloud formations, your eyes are drawn to the Blue Mountains. A beautiful meeting of garden, landscape, and sky.
