SIERGRASSEN

Photographed for Noel Kingsbury and my book, Wild: The Naturalistic Garden, on an icy November morning at Lianne's Siergrassen (Prairie Garden) in the Netherlands. The light was so exciting, and the warmth of colour associated  with such cool temperatures was surprising. I took the wider, key shots first, then was equally as entranced by opportunities for compositions as I moved in closer. This one I loved for its forms, colours and textures, creating a really layered image - something I always strive to achieve.
