In May 2014, I made my first visit to Great Dixter House and Gardens in East Sussex, England, having the great fortune of staying in the beautiful, historic house - home of the late Christopher Lloyd. It was the joyous meeting of new friends. Walking out into the garden alone in the morning when all was quiet, I felt the romance and beauty of this special place, loved by so many around the world. Fergus Garrett's wild plantings were dreamlike with light mist, set against the iconic peacock topiary figures. This is my favourite part of the garden and I imagine photographing here every day of the year would produce an entirely new image, both with such varying light and rapid change seen with succession planting.
